"A" for Attitude

A Book Review by David Suter

I am 42, am on the ‘right side’ of my mid-life crisis, and am currently earning my first million dollars.

I already have attitude – in abundance.

It has taken many years for me to get to where I am now – years filled with a plethora of motivational / self-help courses and seminars.

I am what I am today – living my ultimate dreams & expectations – because of the enlightenment I have gleaned from these ‘gems’ along my life’s path.

My only regret – is that life is too short - to be waiting until almost half of it is over before realising ‘how it all works’.

Julie Davey has collected all of life’s lessons (gems), and repackaged them like never before – to be delivered to the correct audience – the young.

We as adults, can look upon this book as a collection of truths, that we generally ‘know’ – perhaps even practice – or maybe some we are reading for the ‘first time’.

The truth we must realise is this… where would we be today, had we known these facts at the earliest possible stage?

Julie Davey has given our most important asset – our youth and their future – the best possible start in life. If these simple truths are learned and practised from deep within – by all our youth, from an early stage – then I have a very warm feeling for the future of planet Earth.

We often look upon our world of ‘today’ – and shake our head at how ‘bad’ it has become.

We must take responsibility for that. We cant expect our young to do any better than ourselves, if we don’t pass on what it took so long for us to learn.

It is my belief that this book should become permanently enshrined in the early curriculum of our youth. It should be a mandatory ‘pre-requisite’ for life.

How often have you uttered the words "I’d love to be young again – and know what I know now". I shudder to think where I would be now if I had read (and absorbed) this book at an early stage.

Who are we to ‘hold back’ our youth. We should embrace this book of ‘life’s gems’, and pass it on to all our youth. Only then, can we be like the tribes of old, who passed knowledge down from generation to generation – as if their future depended upon it.

It did… and so does ours.

Our future – as a planet of hopeful souls – depends upon the successful increase in human capabilities over many lifetimes. We must not let our youth wait 42 years to get their start.

If we love them – if we love the reason we all live – we will pass on this ‘Book of Truths" and make sure they understand every word, and every meaning – even those that may be ‘between the lines’

Do your children a favour. Do the world a favour. What the heck – have attitude - do yourself a favour.

Give a child you love the opportunity at getting life ‘right from the start’.

Teach them the values within this great book.

If you do this properly – you’ll never hear the words "I’d love to be young again – and know what I know now" from your children.

Now that’s Attitude.
