This review on R for Richlife
is an extract from financial expert
Noel Whittaker’s
column published in Brisbane Times, Courier Mail, Illawarra Mercury
and Newcastle Herald, December 2007
“…The next book stands in stark contrast to Greene’s ‘take no
prisoners’ view of society. It too aims at helping people
(in this
case children) get what they want from life, and I sure wish
it had been around when I was a boy.
Julie Davey’s ‘R for Richlife’ targets the 10 to 13 year old market and shows its readers
how to get ‘rich’ in every sense of the word. It asks kids to work
out what ‘richness’ means to them: relationships, health, hobbies, a
new bike - and then helps them develop positive mindsets so they can
move towards their goals. The book presents financial matters such
as saving, investing and budgeting in fun ways that children will
relate to, while providing them with skills that go far
beyond the monetary…”
Re: Attitude in Action
‘I’ve always believed in the power of attitude and warmly commend
this excellent book Attitude in Action
– it teaches us how to think optimistically, to act positively and
happily reach our full potential’

‘What a beaut little book on how to grow and succeed in what ever it
may be. This country was built on attitude like this…
anything is possible, just some things may take a little
more time than others!’

“… I found it very inspirational and yet very simple and easy to
follow. You have given me some great ideas to work with for
my team and I know that through putting the right ‘Attitude
into Action’ we will achieve some incredible goals…
‘…CONGRATULATIONS on another fantastic little book. I have
recommended
"A for Attitude" to several friends, and you can be sure I'll be
letting them all know that this one has "hit the shelves".’
Each morning I randomly open A for
Attitude as a source of inspiration for my day. I am
really passionate about Julie’s simple messages and fantastic
illustrations, and firmly believe that EVERY home would
benefit from a copy of this book!
Another wonderful book is Julie’s
Attitude In Action, a guide to realising
your potential and achieving your dreams. Full of clear
examples and terrific images, I turn to it often for a dose of
clarity, direction and positive energy.
Surround yourself with Julie’s books, cards, posters and positive
messages to bring more smiles to your life I have!
Well done, Julie!
What people have said about ‘A for
Attitude’:
“ In today’s society when there are so many ways for people to
escape reality (and children are taking drugs at very young ages
now) it is a very positive step to introduce children to the concept
of positive attitudes in such areas as anger, fear, fun, gossip and
health. Who knows – maybe some adults will read the section on
prejudice, dealing with problems and the importance of meditation.
This book has something for us all”.

“… refreshingly successful in tackling positive attitudes …
hits you between the eyes with its simple and direct message.”
“ A for Attitude is destined to become a classic best seller”
| Arnold
Bonnet, Editor Education Horizons |
“… released at the right time: when adults are concerned that
many young people cannot face their problems”
“ As a primary school teacher and kinesiologist, I have observed and
believe that the greatest threat to humanity is in not loving
ourselves enough and not knowing how to express our feelings
appropriately. Repressed feelings lock into the body blocking off
energy flow, which leads to dis-ease in the body, mind and emotions.
Julie has offered us a wonderful tool kit to find ways to unlock our
potential, create the full energy flow again and become our
magnificent best. This is a self-discovery resource for everybody,
not just for children. Have fun playing with it."

Boneo Primary School has purchased a set of
A for Attitude books and they are
used as a constant resource in classroom discussions and
for individual children experiencing difficulties in the yard,
especially with bullying and peer group pressure. There is also a
set of posters displayed in classrooms.

“… Julie Davey has collected all of life’s lessons
(gems), and repackaged them like never before – to be delivered to
the correct audience – the young… It is my belief that this book
should become permanently enshrined in the early curriculum of our
youth. It should be a mandatory ‘pre-requisite’ for life…”
“Yesterday, one of the young mothers at my 3-day seminar in told me
that her 6 yr old son was so taken by
A for Attitude that he
wanted her to re-read to him in the morning before going to school,
after she had read sections of it before he went to bed the night
before.”

I liked the book on the whole – every page is inspirational. This
book can be used for any age group. From young to
adults. I have already recommended it to the staff I work with as it
is also a motivational book, anyone would be motivated in a positive
way with the book.

Re: R for Richlife
A savings plan, budgeting and goal setting are all important money
management skills. These are covered well, as is the most
important factor – mindset!
I have to say that I’ve never seen either Katie (aged 11yrs) or
Madison (13 years) so engrossed in a book!
This book is not just about managing money, but also how to
recognise, create and appreciate abundance in all areas of
life.

I like the pictures to help tell the story. The
colours are good.
Examples like the farmer are helpful to see and understand it
better.

Fabulous information, tools and life skills to empower children,
young people
(and their parents!) to be abundant in all aspects
of their lives.

I think it will be a great thing for kids including kids my age and
under because I think that if they start saving now
then they will be very wealthy.
I enjoyed the journey the book took me on, with many positive
suggestions and a very good message to children.
It is a great book with engaging illustrations and helpful
information.
