Here are some creative ways to use our books, cards and posters...

A for Attitude book
Helps people to find their own solutions:
Open at random whilst holding a picture in your mind that relates to a current challenge.
We have heard from several Assistant Principals, that troubled children sent to their office are often assisted by browsing through this book. This tends to open the way for helpful discussion.

We suggest:
Read a page or two, or ask a child to do so and then discuss the topics with questions such as:
  - what do you like or dislike about this page? and why?
  - what does this remind you of?
  - have you ever felt like this? and how do you feel about that now?

Choose a couple of self affirming topics that will assist your child to feel confident, happy, relaxed etc. as they drift of to sleep. The last thing we think about before we nod of to sleep at night can make or break a good rest.
eg. You are enough, Meditation, Self acceptance, Dream Tree, Universal energy (Leave the more challenging topics for daylight hours when you have more time to discuss, offer guidance etc.)

'I Can' cards
The pack contains some suggestions for using these cards, such as:
  - playing the 'memory' game
  - sticking them on the fridge, mirror, or in your wallet to encourage positive thinking
Here are additional ways:
Sneak them into your child’s school book or lunchbox to remind them of a particular principle eg. be persistent, you are enough, make positive choices, etc.
Emergency teachers have told about how they carry the cards to every session incase there is no prepared lesson plan for that class. Each student is invited to select a card and write/speak about the topic, similar to the tip for using the book.

'I Can' wall chart
This resource is laminated allowing you to:
Write goals on the chart and wipe clean for new goal
Highlight affirmations to help you or your child focus on a particular message
  * Place your child's photo over the character's face to assist the child to 'see' themselves as successful.

Ideal for placing on:
  - School classroom wall
  - Child's bedroom wall
  - Behind door in bathroom!
  - Fridge door
  - Coach's noticeboard

Prevention is so much better than cure.
Encourage children (whatever their age) to save at least 10% of every dollar they receive, to assist them to create solid foundations for the future.
No matter how old you are, start today! These principles can work for everyone.
